Whew. The show is over. I had been thinking about it since the last show! It was great to be there again, see old friend, meet new friends, and then of course, to do business. As my sweetest sister was helping me at the booth, I was able to take little breaks and look through the isles to be mesmerized by great designers. There are different reasons of for interest, so let's first start with just what I liked:
Screech Owl Design: I think they had the best booth in the overall show. As you are passing by, you can't miss them, and then you see their great cards.
Room It Up: I was just in the travel mode, their smart solutions grabbed my eye, especially the fleece throws.
Abitare: This is not one of the exhibitors, but the owners of this store stopped by our booth and left their business card, which was a photo of their store. It looks AWESOME.
Then, there are my new mom friends; stationery makers who have young babies like mine. It was motivating to see how we all rallied to work at the show.
- Mara from Dutch Door Press
- Jacki from Jacki Paper
- Laura from Laura K Design
It was great to meet Angela of Angela Ligouri whom I met through email only. She was sharing a booth to show her ribbons with Shelley from Albertine Press and it looked lovely.
Well, the big thing at the show was eco-friendliness, sustainability, biodegradable products and recycled paper. Everybody was asking about it, many companies became green. I have been working on it, but my whole line is not green, yet. So, it was great to see this company at the show:
Green Paper Company: They have a great collection, and it will be helpful to turn my cards into greener cards.
Finally; years ago when we were visiting Portland, OR, we saw a great paper store which I think started me thinking about what I want to do next. They had great, GREAT products, a very beautiful store and their workshop at the back of the store where you could peak in and see their presses. So, I was honored when Oblation Papers and Press placed an order at the show. My dream store is now carrying my cards!
Back to work, so much to work on...
