Every year, San Francisco Public Library has a book sale. I started going there 3-4 years ago. It is at the Fort Mason Festival Pavilion and ...

has lots...



and lots...



of books.

I love going there as 1. the books are really cheap, 2. you can find old, letterpressed, vintage books just hidden under the piles. They smell old paper. They have beautiful type and illustrations. They are skillfully bound. I get lost.

I was there with John and his parents, and together we did pretty well:

I recommend everyone. It is going on till Sunday and that day all books will be just $1.

Yay to the first day of Fall!

Fall is my favorite season! The color of leaves, not cold yet but cozy days... I love this Google logo for the beginning of fall. Dennis Hwang has been doing a great job designing the holiday logos for Google.

I have a very talented friend and Lula is very lucky. She first got this (the embroidery) and now this...

This is a bird mobile that she made - every little bit of it. The birds and then the whole ensemble with the branches. Here are some close-ups:

I love it and I think Lula does, as well. When she is getting ready for her naps, she loves staring at them... Thank you Jen!

Inspired by DWR

This is my first aid kit inspired by DWR's. When John saw this drawing, he mentioned that people usually draw the other side of band aid, and if I am going to show this side, I should probably have a blood stain or little greenish something on the gauze. Not cute...

All about eggs today!

A very sweet friend sent me three egglings. They appear intact, then you crack them open, water them and hopefully see them grow. The whole process is so festive and fun and makes the gift more special, more personal. Now I think of my friend every time I water them.

I recently ordered some beautiful ribbons from Angela at Edizioni. Then I used them for packaging my onesie+hat pack. I think they make the packages really cute!

Other than the ribbons from her homeland Italy, Angela has amazing hand-bound books at her Etsy store. This one is my favorite.

New store!

Design Within Reach is opening a new, specialized store: Tools for Living. I love it, I love the idea. I really enjoy well designed simple products in the house, and so far anything they had in their collection was great. Having more of that will be fantastic. For example, this is one of my favorites:

Pig race

There are not any photos of me eating the cream puff as I ate it so fast, but I got to take photos of the winning pig at the pig race:

This goat was also pretty sweet:

Overall, it was a great, relaxing vacation.

Another tiny project
