When we first arrived in Istanbul, I purchased an Istanbul Life magazine. I do not have a lot of time to read nowadays, so I usually try to buy magazines of real material but this one was giving a card deck of "52 places to see in Istanbul." We did not have a recent guidebook with us and this was a pretty good list. We have been slowly going through the list and luckily, we have quite a few of these very close to us.
A few days ago we went to one of these spots, Rumeli Hisari. Even though it is right on the waterline and not so high up, the view from the walls is impressive. You need to climb up through very narrow stairs without railings (no small feat with small kids) and when you stand by the edge, it is hard not no think about what the soldiers patrolling Bosphorus were doing there on cold nights or when they saw something suspicious or just on very beautiful days like we had that day. It is also nice that Istanbul municipality is taking very good care of it.
I'm jealous of all the above! All your sight-seeing and discovery in Istanbul, even Lula's cute school uniform. But SF isn't too shabby either :-) Nice to see you've resumed blogging!

So pretty and Lula gets cuter every day! Can you save the Istanbul Life magazine for me? I'm planning a trip in April :)
