We moved to our place on July 15th and just a couple weeks ago, we finally hung artwork in our living room! We did a first take, hung two photos on the wall, did not like the direction it was going and started from scratch. It is nice to have a handy man (John) in the house who can fix the holes immediately for take two.
For the second take, we first started with a layout on the carpet:
Can you see two girls in the dog bed (dog couch to be accurate) and a dog hind leg hanging from our couch?
John gets to work. We were more professional the second time - the post-its mark the borders of our cloud layout. Buddy got very tired during this process, too!
With a few revisions, we got the happy ending! After the holidays, we cleaned out the holiday card display. Now, we need a new display for our counter. Ideas, ideas...
nice to see how this wall display I have seen in person came to life...

Oh wow! I used to live in Chicago and was following your site when you were living in West coast. How things change! I am Leyla by the way... I probably sent you a note or two many years ago. Curious, which neigborhood did you guys ended up at? I used to live at Wickerpark (4 years), Lakeview (2 years) and Lincoln Square (1 year)

Merhaba Leyla!
We looked at all those neighborhoods that you lived in and then decided on Lincoln Park, close to our girls' schools!
Where are you now?

I am in NYC - moved here 3 years ago. I loved Lincoln Park, too. Super nice brown stone buildings there and really good restaurants. You can bike to the lake in the summer. Wait until the summer, you will love it:)
